There goes your Oscar hopes.....

Beyonce stans were full of hope that their girl would snag an Oscar and put Jennifer Hudson and all naysayers to shame. Well it seems that it's a wrap for any chance Beyonce had for a Best Supporting Actress Oscar. Her film "Cadillac Records" made $3 million at the box office, debuting at #9 in the box office, not the success that the studio hoped for and the failure could put a negative image of the film in the heads of Oscar voters and lose Beyonce votes. Well at least she can be comforted by the fact her album moves up to #3 in its third week in stores and has sold over 900,000 copies so far. BTW "Four Christmases" was #1 making another $18 million bringing its 2 week total to $70 million.

I've seen the movie...and her performance is NOT worthy of an Oscar....I think she can sing and dance but she has a way to go in acting

I see some growth from her earlier roles but she's still not there! and in some scenes it seemed fake that she is attempting to do a JHud with emotional songs but falls way short of the realness that jennifer brought

I would suggest that if Bey wants to be taken seriously as an actress, she does something without singing....she should consider an indy project or something that take her far away from what we know her as

I will believe Beyonce's Oscar worthy performance, when I see it with my own eyes. I am still traumatized from Beyonce's performance in MTV's hip hopera "Carmen"

Personally, I love when an individual steps out of their comfort zone and tries to be successful in a different arena. It shows ambition, drive and the willingness to diversify. In my opinion Beyonce is by far the best entertainer alive

Oscars go to actresses who have worked hard. She isnt a actress not hating jus being real!! She is a entertainer/performer. Anyone can play in a movie and but everyone cannot act!

Why do people of color especially Black people pay any mind to the Oscars????

The Oscars are not for us!
In the year 2008 many black actors/actresses have done work of perfection and haven't even been considered at the least.

Maybe her pappy will BUY another award. It will cost him millions, though. She has received awards she should have never received. Her music is childish and she can't even sell a million copies after 3 weeks?! Talking about a major flop of a "superstar". Move over bish, Britney is back to snatch lacefronts and burn them because like a firecracker she keeps it hot. LOLLOlolololLolLOLOLOLOL. Beyowulf better go and sit and watch Youtube and plot to steal someone else's idea and claim it as her own.

why does she continue to act when she can't, actors have depth, all this whore can sing about is money, her skin tone, and how she is a diva (which she isn't)this strippers needs to go back to working the poles and leave the acting for those who have talent, plus, she has bad breath

Someone said it best in an earlier post. People are so cruel and say such nasty and mean things about this young great talented woman. I saw Cadillac Records actually twice and absolutely adored ALL the performances. Great BLACK actors/actresses showcasing their talent and the love for the history of our "BLACK" music. Last but not least, Beyonce was great in her Etta James role and will only continue to grow and master the craft of acting. She has the detrmination and drive, which a lot of people could learn from on this post. Great day to ALL!!!!!!!!!!
